Zimbabwe Equity Market | 2 Sep 2015: Equity trading is light on Zimbabwe Stock Exchange today
Harare, Zimbabwe, Capital Markets in Africa — The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index sustained the uptrend after marginally surged by 0.08 percent or 0.10 points to end at 135.60 points. The market capitalization ended at US$3.556 billion by gaining US$3 million relative to market capitalization of US$3.553 billion recorded at the previous trading session.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$1,134,382 (a reduction compared to 2,911,325 recorded at previous session) exchanged in 15 traded securities via 28 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys US$1,096,230 and foreign sells US$1,101,231 today. Out of the 15 traded securities, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited recorded at US$1,097,600 exchanged in 3,920,000traded securities and Zimre Holdings Limited recorded at US$15,430 exchanged in 1,138,846 traded stocks. Equally, Dawn Properties Limited with 218,731 shares valued at US$3,631 and Hwange Colliery Company Limited recorded 57,894 shares with total value of US$1,968.
From the market activities strength views, there were five price gainers, two price losers and eight prices remained unchanged, hence market strength ended positive. The price gainers was NicozDiamond Insurance Limited traded at US$0.0180 after adding 12.50 percent or U$0.0020, Turnall Holdings Limited surged by 11.11 percent or US$0.0010 to close at US$0.0100 and Dawn Properties Limited closed at US$0.0166 after gaining 1.84 percent or US$0.0003. OK Zimbabwe Limited surged by 1.84 percent to settle at US$0.072 and British-American Tobacco Zimbabwe Limited ended at US$11.6767 after gaining 1.09 percent. On the other hand, Zimre Holdings Limited and Meikles Limited sagged by 16.66 percent to conclude at US$0.100 and plummeted by 1.08 percent to close at US$0.1187.
The Mining index remained unchanged to close at 35.34 points. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0280, US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0040.
